might paint

Might paint something I might want to hang here someday,
Might write something I might want to say to you someday,
Might do something I'd be proud of someday.
Mark my words, I might be something someday.

winguardium leviosa!

so.... tonight i decided to start a pottery and harry potter marathon in my basement.  i am a geek, and in a couple weeks i'll be going to see the new HP movie with my friend, josh.  so, i decided to catch up on some of my work and the first two movies of the series.

apparently the wizarding world of harry potter is a great way to get things done.  i made a set of nesting bowls, a tea set, beer mugs (with lids, to be made into beer steins) a few small plates and bowls.... and the list goes on.  i'm clayed out for the night.  now i knit a new scarf with the sound of icy rain hitting my windows.
i almost bought new christmas decorations today.  that thought frightens me.  it's already that time.  eek.

productive first day...

i made about 13 cups, two bowls and three small plates last nigh on m new Shimpo VL Whisper wheel.  It's amazing....and almost silent.  it's unsettling.

tonight i made the bottom half of my steamer/casserole.
i keep forgetting that porcelain/white stoneware needs to be pretty dry before you trim it. i almost wrecked a cup. whoops.
i also realized that i dislike making things with covers or lids...perhaps that is why i currently have a plethora of cups, mugs and bowls....generally things with a cylindrical form- i have those in abundance.

this semester is coming to a close in the not too distance future and you all know what that means.  it's time for aimee to make a mad dash to the finish line to complete all her work.  i don't know what it is about ceramics and workloads but i somehow manage to procrastinate in every aspect of this class, but i make it work.  this semester is no exception to that rule.

although, with the new addition to my work force, i have a feeling things just got a whole lot easier.
tomorrow i venture to portland pottery in braintree for a few necessary supplies and possibly some new clays to try out for myself.  i've always liked the speckled clay or dark stoneware the others in class have used...might need to get some for myself.

in non pottery related news i've started thinking about next semester's class schedule.  i won't be taking ceramics.  i plan on taking a semester off to work on all of my general education requirements so i can start chipping away at those.  the schedule i've made for myself (as tentative...) is horrifying.  six classes, five days a week. eek.  i've also added a minor in history to my list of things to complete.

wake me when it's all over and i've graduated.

the day of wreckoning is upon us!

so, tomorrow my wheel gets delivered.
thus, tomorrow begins my slow decline into less of a social life than i already have now and a greater lack of fresh air and sunlight.  i will surely be spending almost every waking moment in my basement working on one thing or another.  i should just throw a mattress on the floor and put my tv down there because it'll feel like i'm home.

it was nice knowing everyone while i had a life.
